- Dual and triple elements - Select Thermador Electric Cooktops come with elements with two or three rings so you can adapt the element to the size of your cookware.
- Bridge element - This feature combines two individual heating elements into a larger heating zone so you can cook with griddles or larger pans.
- PowerBoost® - Enables you to quickly heat up large amounts of water at a temperature higher than the Electric Cooktop's highest power level. Perfect for quickly heating up large pots of soup or stock.
- CookSmart® - When this feature is enabled, a sensor controls the temperature of the pan taking the guesswork out of temperature selection.
Dual, Triple & Bridge Elements
Dual and triple elements - These elements come with 2 or 3 rings allowing you to adapt the element to the size of your cookware. Refer to your owner's manual to learn where these elements are located on your Electric Cooktop and how to activate the different rings.
Bridge element - This feature combines two individual heating elements into a larger heating zone so you can place griddles or larger pans in this zone. You can also place a teppanyaki on this element and split the individual heating elements allowing you to cook on one side and keep things warm on the other. Refer to your owner's manual to learn how to activate the bridge element and combine the two elements.
PowerBoost®
PowerBoost® enables you to quickly heat up large amounts of water at a temperature higher than the highest power level of the Electric Cooktop. We recommend using this to heat up large amounts of soup or stock.
Here are some useful tips for this feature:
- Refer to your owner's manual to learn how to activate this feature.
- Oil and fat heat up quickly with this feature. Never leave your Electric Cooktop unattended while using this feature since the overheated oil or fat may ignite.
- The duration of this feature is restricted. If you use this feature for more than 20 minutes, the element will automatically switch back to power level 9 for your safety.
CookSmart®
The CookSmart® feature controls the temperature of the pan preventing your pan from overheating. The cooking element will only heat when it is necessary which saves energy. Oil and grease do not overheat when using this feature.
Here are some useful tips for this feature:
- Refer to your owner's manual to learn how to activate this feature.
- Refer to the CookSmart® frying chart in your owner's manual to learn which frying level is ideal for particular foods.
- Never leave oil or fat cooking unattended.
- Place the pan in the center of the element. Make sure that the base of the pan has the proper diameter.
- Do not cover the pan with a lid. The automatic regulation will not work. If needed, you can use a mesh splatter guard to cover your pan. This will not affect the automatic programming.
- Only use fat or oil that is suitable for frying. When you are using butter, margarine, native olive oil, or pork lard, select the frying level min.
- Do not use CookSmart® for boiling.
