How to Clean the Refrigerator

Learn how to clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator and freezer. Watch the videos for step-by-step guidance on proper cleaning.

How to Clean the Wine Refrigerator

1. Unplug the appliance or switch off.
2. Remove all the bottles.
3. Clean the interior of the appliance with mild, warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Wipe dry.
4. Wipe the door seal with clear water and dry thoroughly with a cloth.
5. Switch the appliance back on and place the bottles back.

There is Rust on the Stainless Steel Surface

Unfortunately, you cannot remove rust.

To help ensure the appliance does not rust, always clean the stainless steel surface in the direction of the finish. When cleaning, use a mild cleaner and never use abrasive cleaners. After cleaning, use a stainless steel conditioner to condition the surface.

Change the carbon odor filter if there are lingering odors in your refrigerator. Watch the video to learn how to replace the carbon filter in built-in refrigerators or review your owner's manual, if you do not have your owner's manual, you can download it here. The odor filter on Freestanding Refrigerators should only be replaced by authorized service providers, please contact Thermador Customer Support at 1-800-735-4328.
