Fragrant rosemary is the perfect holiday touch to this beautiful cocktail. Go beyond the rosemary simple syrup and use your favorite simple syrup if you please. Enjoy. Makes 2 Cocktails Ingredients For the Rosemary Simple Syrup: • 1/2 cup water • 1/2 cup sugar • Two 3-inch sprigs rosemary For the Cocktails: • 4 ounces vodka • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice • 1 ounce rosemary simple syrup (or regular simple syrup) • About 4 ounces club soda • Handful of fresh or frozen whole cranberries • 2 sprigs of rosemary |
Make Rosemary Simple Syrup:
1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to make sure all the sugar dissolves. Boil for about 2 minutes then remove from heat.
2. Add the sprigs of rosemary and allow to cool. Store in a glass jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
Make the Cocktail:
1. Combine the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup in an iced filled shaker.
2. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds, then strain and divide the mix between 2 ice filled old fashioned glasses (the glasses should be about 3/4 full).
3. Add a few cranberries to each of the cocktails, then top with club soda (about 2 ounces each cocktail).
4. Finish by adding a sprig of rosemary to each of the cocktails to use as a stirrer. Give each cocktail a little swirl to incorporate the club soda and serve.
